“My response to the Tel Aviv, Israel Story on Snapchat:
It hurt. It really did. Seeing them live a first class life on a land which does not belong to them. A land which they stole. They killed, they murdered, they raped, they committed massacres for this land. They do not belong there. We belong there. But we are not there. Because we are Palestinians. Because one day their weapons decided that it is not our land anymore..
But that isn’t what hurt me the most. What hurt me is the fact that, this week last year, over 2200 Palestinians in Gaza were massacred. Rivers of blood were flowing in the streets of Gaza Strip. This week last year, Israeli settlers stood on mountain tops and laughed while they watched bombs fall on Gaza (Youtube it). They laughed while young children were burning to death. They laughed while buildings with citizens were being bombed. They protested and continuously urged their government to “Kill more arabs!”
And today, while a million in Gaza weep during this extremely painful anniversary, Snapchat decides to send them an uplifting gift by showing them how beautiful “Tel Aviv” is. And how happy the killers of their loved ones are.
Shame on you Snapchat. Shame.”- Mohammed Zeyara
